5 Refreshing Ways to Make London Water Less Boring

By Matt Stimpson |  Published

Water is an essential ingredient to all life. Hydrating? Yes. Nutritious? You bet. Refreshing? Of course. Delicious? Not so much… While London water is as vital to us as the air we breathe, it can taste a bit chemically. But even if you can get past that, it’s still a bit…boring. For all its benefits, plain water isn’t the most exciting – or tastiest – thing in the world to drink. But we’ve put together a list of ways on how you can make your 8 glasses of water a day tastier than ever, with something to really tickle your tastebuds.

1. Make the perfect Iced Tea

Is cold tea better than cold water? Definitely. With the right, everyday ingredients, Iced Tea is a perfect drink to enjoy and keep you refreshed. But it adds some wonderful flavours, making it a quick and easy way to make water less boring. Once you’ve found just the right recipe, try making a larger pitcher so it goes further and lasts longer.

2. Add zingy citrus fruits

It’s a classic, but adding a slice of lemon to your glass, or a few slices to a jug or pitcher, can give your water a refreshing, low-cal zing to take the edge off. But you’re not limited to lemons. Why not try the same thing with oranges? You can even go wild and add both for a classic citrus combo. Quick, easy, and effective.

3. Use a fruit juice mixer

We all use mixers for our favourite gin or vodka drinks, so why not try mixing your water with something as well? Adding a splash of your favourite unsweetened fruit juice is a guaranteed winner, giving your water a tasty and refreshing kick.

4. Try a fruit infusion

There are plenty of flavour combinations to infuse your water that will really make you want to drink more of it. Using a mix of fruit combinations, such as Blackberries, Orange, and Ginger, Watermelon, Lime, and Mint, or Pineapple, Coconut, and Lime, you can give your water a healthy, refreshing taste.

Think Pimms but non-alcoholic.

5. Pimp your ice cubes

Giving your water a shot of ice-cool flavour, flavoured ice cubes are ridiculously easy to create – and they don’t need to be made with water either. Try chopping some of your favourite fruits into small pieces and freezing them before adding to your water. Or how about freezing a few shots of cool espresso to give your water an iced coffee flavour?
