Introducing Sally Wilson – Charity Trustee
We are delighted to welcome Sally Wilson as a trustee of “Pure Wishes.” With over 15 years of hands-on experience with Thirsty Work, Sally brings a deep understanding of its culture, operations, and the people it serves. Her commitment to the charity is deeply personal: her cousin, Justin, played a pivotal role in bringing the organisation to life, working at Thirsty work from 2010 until his passing, and Sally continues to advance his vision and dedication through her work.
Sally’s journey reflects her remarkable strength and commitment. As a mother navigating the challenges of raising teenagers, she has mastered the art of balancing responsibilities, demonstrating resilience, empathy, and practical problem-solving along the way. Her team-player mentality, combined with single-female determination, makes her an invaluable addition to the board.
Bringing both professional insight and personal experience, Sally is perfectly positioned to guide the charity with compassion, common sense, and unwavering dedication.
Introducing Andrew Vickery – Charity Trustee
We’re proud to announce Andrew Vickery, Managing Director of Thirsty Work, as a trustee of Pure Wishes. Andrew has dedicated nearly 30 years to building Thirsty Work into what it is today. Now, he’s turning that same commitment towards supporting the people behind the business - our team and their families - when they need it most.
Over the years, Thirsty Work has supported a wide range of charitable causes. With Pure Wishes, that focus becomes more personal, bringing that same spirit of giving closer to home and directly to the people who are part of our journey every day.
As a family man, this is something that genuinely matters to Andrew. It’s not just another initiative, it’s a cause that reflects his own values and the way he’s always approached the business.
Thirsty Work has always been a family business, not only in name with the Vickery family at its core, but in the way it looks after its people. Andrew’s role as trustee is a natural extension of that.
Introducing Debbie Voysey – Charity Trustee
We are pleased to welcome Debbie Voysey as the newest trustee of “Pure Wishes”. Debbie brings a unique blend of empathy, resilience, and practical wisdom to the role, shaped by her personal experiences and deep connection to the charity.
Debbie’s late husband, Martyn, devoted over 20 years to Thirsty Work, and his passion for his role left a lasting mark. Through supporting Martyn during his illness and coping with his passing, Debbie has demonstrated remarkable strength, humility, and compassion. These qualities, combined with her keen sense of common sense, make her an ideal addition to our board.
Continuing in Martyn’s footsteps, Debbie is committed to supporting the charity’s mission and ensuring that his legacy of care and dedication lives on. She brings not only personal insight and understanding but also a heartfelt commitment to helping others and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those the charity serves.
We are confident that Debbie’s perspective and compassion will enrich our decision-making and guide our work with sensitivity and integrity.
