Thirsty Work Proudly Supports Just a Drop

As one of the leading water cooler and water dispenser suppliers in the UK, we aim to provide convenient hydration solutions, with an excellent service to thousands of customers. Whilst this is our main aim, we also recognise that not everyone across the globe is as privileged as we are, for example not having access to such a necessity like clean drinking water.
In association with the British Water Cooler Association, we have raised funds for the charity Just a Drop who work at a grass root level to support local communities around the world with access to sustainable safe water solutions, sanitation facilities and knowledge of safe hygiene practices. There sustainable projects provide support to communities, such as through the construction of hand dug and drilled wells, pipelines, sand dams, rainwater, harvesting systems and latrines, and hygiene and sanitation programmes. We and other members of the British Water Cooler Association have helped fund the creation of new boreholes in African countries. These life-altering fundraising efforts will continue full speed ahead this year.
Water Scarcity in The World
Lack of access to clean drinking water is one of the world’s leading problems that affects more than 1.1 billion lives. This essentially means that one in seven people have a lack of access to safe and clean drinking water.
It is important to remember that with a complete lack of water, humans can only live up to three to five days on average.
In the African continent alone, it is estimated that by 2030, about 75 million – 250 million people will be living in areas where access to water will be a high stress.
Water scarcity is not just an issue for those in rural areas, but affects those who live and work in urban areas too. Contributing factors range from climate change, physical scarcity and economic scarcity to regional variance.
At Thirsty Work, we are proud to be in a position to help those where accessing drinking water is a daily challenge. Access to clean water makes an enormous difference, not just health wise, but for hygiene and sanitisation.
Keep an eye out for the next fundraising venture to make a difference and transform lives with clean, healthy water. For more information, please visit the BWCA’s Just a Drop Charity.
